Tanzania’s government reaffirmed a national push toward clean energy usage, aiming that 80% of citizens will rely on clean energy sources by 2034. The initiative, announced by the Deputy Minister in the Vice-President’s Office (Union & Environment), seeks to curb air pollution, reduce living costs, and strengthen climate resilience. Officials committed to raising public awareness, enforcing environmental laws, and supporting a broader environmental-conservation agenda in line with the country’s long-term development vision. The clean-energy campaign is part of a broader strategy to safeguard public health and the environment while reducing dependence on fossil fuels. The government stated that every staff at the national environment authority will be responsible for boosting enforcement and community education to realise the target.
